The ISOO Virtual 2025 Conference was a highly successful global event, bringing together over 1,500 registered participants from 132 countries for six hours of focused content on ocular oncology. The program featured case-based discussions, keynote addresses, and high-level panel exchanges addressing disparities in care between high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Between sessions, short segments included interviews with global health leaders, such as the President of the Brazilian Ophthalmological Society, advisors to the Ministries of Health in Indonesia and Kenya, the Minister of Health of Albania, and the President of IAPB.
One of the conference’s major highlights was the launch of the ISOO Global Twinning Program, which connects clinicians from LMICs with experts from high-income countries for collaboration in clinical care, education, and research.
Initiated and managed by Sheba’s Prof. Ido Didi Fabian on behalf of ISOO, the conference showcased ISOO’s commitment to inclusivity, global engagement, and equitable eye cancer care, reaffirming its role as a leading forum in ocular oncology.
